Strawberry Shortcake

Today is the day for dressing like desserts! I decided I was finally going to give in and wash my colorful hair. I wanted to get as much volume as possible to accent my makeup as if the hair was the frosting on a cupcake.

To prep the hair I used Bumble&Bumble Invisible Oil's line for priming, heat protection, and thickening before applying heat. I then followed up with a quarter-sized amount of Neuro Mousse and proceeded to blow-dry the hair upward with a round brush. I then used a comb to tease my entire head as much as possible and sprayed a tad of hairspray to keep the strands firm while being molded.

Once sprayed I lightly combed the top pieces of the hair backwards into a bump and pinned with two bobby pins in the back. Another generous spray of hairspray and she is stuck in place! Plus a little black bow for accent.

For the face I used a mix of Morphe palettes for blush and shadow along with Mehron water-based paint for the green liner. The lipstick is Lime Crime in Coral and the black seeds were created used NYX Super Skinny Eyeliner in Black and White. I also smudge some of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Red and Pink underneath the lash line. Finally I finished the look off with the Tarte Liquid Pro Glow Highlighter to brighten the cheeks on tip on my nose.
